Well, it’s that time of year again ~ Spring Cleaning; time to get rid of clutter and start spring off fresh. Although I am having a little more difficulty applying that concept to my home, I am however doing a better job on the business end of it. I have been tweaking the website, changing up the blog a bit {what do you think so far??}, and preparing to launch new photo packages for my lovely clients {thanks to those of you who provided feedback. I really do appreciate it!}. I am also working on a few more fun promos –engagement/couples session, senior sessions, and more–so check back soon!
Lately, I’ve been looking into new options for taking payment via credit card, but it seems so complicated; that is why I have been using PayPal up until this point. PayPal works just fine and I will still have it as an option of payment for those of you who prefer it….anyone? A lot of people have had trouble with it though, and honestly, I felt like I needed a legit credit card service that didn’t cost me an arm and a leg. Enter–my iPhone. I swear there is always an ‘ap’ for that, regardless of what ‘that’ may be. Sure, there are plenty of aps for running credit cards for your business, but most are expensive and I get really nervous about deciding which is reputable. Hey ~ I want what’s best for my customers! But when I came across this four-sided wonder, I got really excited.
It is my pleasure to introduce you to the Square: “Square lets you accept credit cards quickly and easily, using what you already have in your pocket: your phone. Payments, simplified.”
I’ve got to say it up front: I promise you that I truly LOVE this thing and am not in any way being compensated for writing this.
The Square has had amazing reviews and makes life easier for both me and you! Founded by a co-founder of Twitter, this gadget allows anybody who owns an iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, or Android to turn it into a mobile cash register.
It’s actually quite amazing.
It’s actually quite amazing.
The process is all very smooth and takes less than a minute. The perks: it’s secure, there are no bulky machines to lug around, no crazy fees {which help keep MY fees down}, and more options for you; a lot of people don’t carry cash and many do not carry checkbooks, so this is an all-around problem solver — don’t ya think?
Sure, I could have just mentioned that I accept major credit cards and kept this impressive doodad to myself, but a lot of my friends and clients are small business-owners and could really benefit from this device. It has taken the photography world by storm {at least the one I live in} and is just too good not to share. If you are interested in learning more about the Square, visit their website.
